Zentact is a new social networking browser plug-in for Firefox that helps users keep track of their numerous online social contacts and lets them know when to contact their friends to share mutually interesting information. Founded in September 2008, Zentact is currently in private beta, but you can test it out by requesting an invitation through Zentact's website.Official Site: Zentact TechCrunch: Zentact Wants to Turn You Into a Super-Connector (December 12, 2008)
How It Works
- Zentact uses your existing contacts from Google, [[Yahoo!]], Microsoft and LinkedIn.
- You tag your contacts with topics they may be interested in.
- Zentact browses the Internet with you and alerts you when a contact may be interested in what you're browsing.Official Site: Zentact
VentureBeat Review Excerpt
Long-term, I can see Zentact being exceptionally useful to professional networkers, especially people in sales, marketing and business development. The company is working on integration with Salesforce and other customer relationship management systems, to make the pairing of existing networks and its recommendations more useful. It’s the sort of service that I can see people paying money for.—Eric Eldon, VentureBeat writerVentureBeat: Zentact: A new way to share information... (December 10, 2008)
