  • NHL Career

    Michalek entered the NHL by signing as a free agent with the Minnesota Wild on September 29, 2001. In 2002, he joined the Wild's American Hockey League affiliate, the Houston Aeros. Michalek joined the Wild for 22 games during the 2003-04 season for his NHL debut, then played with the Aeros during the 2004-05 NHL lockout. On August 26, 2005, he was traded to the Phoenix Coyotes. He renewed his contract with the Coyotes in 2006, to stay with the franchise for four years. Michalek missed the first seven games of the 2007-08 season after breaking his hand.
