Zahra Eshraghi, the wife of Mohammad Khatami, is an outspoken reform supporter and feminist in Iran. She is also the granddaughter of Ayatollah Khomeini and sister of Ali Eshraghi. Perhaps her most famous campaign is against the requirement for women to wear headscarves in Iran. She is also known for using the words of the Iranian Revolution to support feminist reform. In March, 2008, she denounced the current regime, led by Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and Ali Khamenei as antagonistic to the goals of the Revolution, namely, increasing freedom.
