Zach Parise is an American professional hockey player who plays for the New Jersey Devils in the National Hockey League. Parise also featured in the US Winter Olympics 2010 Ice Skating team.
Parise was drafted 17th overall in the first round by the New Jersey Devils in 2003. Due to the lockout of the 2004-2005 NHL season, Parise had to wait until 2005/2006 to make his New Jersey Devils debut.
Parise's full statistics for the Devils are listed below but Parise scored 32 points in his rookie season, 62 points in 2006/2007, 65 points in 2007/2008 and 94 points in 2008/2009.
On April 28, 2008 Parise was announced as alternate (assistant) captain of the 2008 US Mens Ice Hockey National Team. This was for the forthcoming 72nd annual IIHF World Championship. On October 3, 2009, Parise was also similarly named as alternate captain of the New Jersey Devils.
Parise was an important player for the US Olympic Team. In the six matches played by the US, Parise scored 4 goals, created 4 assists and attempted 63 shots in total.
