President Yunus Bek Yevkurov of Ingushetia, a Muslim region of Russia, was injured on June 22, 2009, in a suicide bomb attack. As President Yevkurov's convoy was driving towards work, suicide bomber detonated himself as the vehicle passed. The driver of Yevkurov's armored Mercedes was killed.
