Yours Mine And Ours

In the 2005 remake of 1968's Yours Mine And Ours, two former high school sweethearts, both now single, meet at their 20th high school reunion and fall in love again. When they spontaneously marry, his eight children and her ten children agree to split up the couple. The film received a poor critical reception, with many critics stating viewers should just rent the original.

The 1968 film Yours Mine And Ours was very loosely based on the real-life story of Frank and Helen Beardsley. In the film, U.S. Navy warrant officer and widower Frank Beardsley (Henry Fonda) meets nurse and widow Helen North (Lucille Ball). They quickly fall in love, only to learn that he has ten children and she has eight. They marry, and their children, resistant at first, eventually blend into one very large, happy family.
