    The 1968 film Yours Mine And Ours was very loosely based on the real-life story of Frank and Helen Beardsley. In the film, U.S. Navy warrant officer and widower Frank Beardsley (Henry Fonda) meets nurse and widow Helen North (Lucille Ball). They quickly fall in love, only to learn that he has ten children and she has eight. They marry, and their children, resistant at first, eventually blend into one very large, happy family.
