Yogurt or yoghurt, is a fermented or cultured dairy product and is an extremely healthy food. The milk sugar, called lactose is mixed with healthy bacteria such as, Lactobacillus bulgaricus, Lactobacillus acidophilus and Streptococcus thermophilus, which causes the milk to ferment and produce lactic acid. The lactic acid gives the milk a tangy flavor and thickens the protein giving it a creamy texture.
