    When purchasing a Yoga mat consider several factors, including durability, price, thickness and ease of cleaning. Some less expensive mats may cost as little as as $20, but are made from less durable synthetic materials and will not last as long or withstand cleaning as well as higher quality mats. High end Yoga mats are made from rubber and are typically four to five millimeters thick. Rubber mats, or other mats made from natural materials, will be more durable and easier to clean. Two other factors to consider are design and size. Mats come in a variety of colors and sizes, with 24" x 68" being the standard size. Most are also lightweight, to roll up for easy portability.
