Yellowstone National Park was America's first National Park and was established on March 1, 1872, by an act of Congress and signed by president Ulysses S. Grant. While Yellowstone is mostly located in the state of Wyoming, parts of it extend into the states of Montana and Idaho. Yellowstone park is known for its stunning scenery, diverse wildlife, and large amount of geothermal activity - as seen in the daily eruptions of the famous Old Faithful geyser. Because of its stark, natural beauty, the park gets upwards of 3 million visitors a year and offers a wide range of outdoor activities such as hiking, camping and fishing
