French singer Yelle (née Julie Budet) is an electro-pop artist from France who first began performing in 2005. Her music gained international attention in 2006 after she posted her song Short D*** Cuizi onto her MySpace profile.
According to Yelle, she grew up with music in her life, with a father who was a famous musician. She says she joined several bands, but never made it past the rehearsals.
In 2005, Yelle met with producer GrandMarnier at a party. They began collaborating together on music. The song, "Short Dick Cuizi," was a diss song directed at a French rapper named Cuizinier, a member of the hip-hop group, TTC.
