Companies are chosen in two cycles: one in the summer in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and one in the winter in Mountain View, California. Founders of chosen companies are expected to move to Y Combinator's location for at least three months, during which they will receive advice and training from experts such as lawyers, investment banks and executives.
