Yao Ming is a Chinese professional basketball player for the Houston Rockets of the NBA. Standing at 7'6", Yao is currently the tallest player in the NBA.
Yao suffered a hailine fracture in his left foot in a May 8, 2009, playoff game against the Los Angeles Lakers.
On May 21, 2010, Yao and his wife Ye Li had a baby girl at a Houston hospital. The baby weighed at 7 pounds 9 ounces. [1]
On May 27, 2010, Houston Chronicle reports that Yao has been cleared to increase rehab workouts. The healing has been continued at the expected rate. [2]

China and the NBA
When he was a teenager, Yao Ming started playing basketball for the Shanghai Sharks in China. He played for the Sharks from 1997 to 2002. While he was predicted to be a number one pick, many teams questioned whether or not the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) would allow Yao to play in the NBA. The CBA required that Yao return to play for the Chinese national team. The CBA also refused to let Yao play in the United States unless he were drafted first overall by the Houston Rockets.
