Yahoo! Rejects Microsoft Offer

Yahoo! is rejecting the $44.6 billion offer by Microsoft to acquire the search engine. Yahoo!'s board met repeatedly since the offer was made on February 1, 2008, and asserted that Microsoft was attempting to purchase Yahoo! for a low price based on their weak stock. The offer by Microsoft amounted to $31 per share, and the Yahoo! board has said they will reject any offer of under $40 per share. Shortly after Microsoft set a deadline for April 26, the Yahoo! board of directors reiterated that they would not accept the proposal, saying that it would be a bad decision for their shareholders.
