Yaakov Alperon was said to be one of the leading figures in an Israeli organized crime syndicate. Alperon allegedly ran Tel Aviv's third-largest crime family.
Alperon, who was also known as "Don Alperon," was murdered in a car bomb attack on November 17, 2008. The explosion occurred near a bus stop on Tel Aviv's Namir Road. Two bystanders were also injured.
