  • Y: The Last Man is a a comic book series written by Brian K. Vaughan and published under the DC Comics brand Vertigo. The series revolves around Yorick Brown, who is the last surviving male human male after every other male mammal on Earth dies following a mysterious epidemic. The series has concluded its run of 60 issues, which are collected in 10 volumes. A film adaptation of the series is currently in development with New Line Cinema.
  • Big Screen Details

    Vaughan, the comic's writer, has reportedly submitted a final version of the screenplay to the film studio, and D.J. Caruso is lined up to direct the film. It will not cover all 60 issues, but will instead focus on accurately adapting the first 14. Filming began in July of 2008, and the actors they will be using have still not been specified, although, the names of Shia LaBeouf, Tracie Thoms, and Alicia Keys have been tossed around in internet rumors. The producer is David S. Goyer, the screenwriter is Carl Ellsworth and the director is D.J. Caruso. The film is expected to be released sometime in 2011.
