The Last Man is a a comic book series written by Brian K. Vaughan and published under the DC Comics brand Vertigo. The series revolves around Yorick Brown, who is the last surviving male human male after every other male mammal on Earth dies following a mysterious epidemic. The series has concluded its run of 60 issues, which are collected in 10 volumes. A film adaptation of the series is currently in development with New Line Cinema.

Vaughan, the comic's writer, has reportedly submitted a final version of the screenplay to the film studio, and D.J. Caruso is lined up to direct the film. It will not cover all 60 issues, but will instead focus on accurately adapting the first 14. -
