Xinjiang China Earthquake

  • There was an earthquake in the Xinjiang province of China. The 7.2 magnitude earthquake happened at 6:33 am, March 21, 2008. As yet there are no reports of deaths in this sparsely populated area. Citizens of the small village of Pulu, the closest to the epicenter, have been evacuated to the nearby city of Hotan. This is an earthquake prone region, with more than 20 earthquakes recorded in the last ten years.
