Xenogears

Xenogears is a single-player RPG from the same people who made the Final Fantasy series. Xenogears has tons of Anime cutscenes and offers over 30 hours of RPG action!

Set 1,000 years after the events of Xenosaga, the world is now at war and has escalated the war thank to the introduction of 'Gears' giant humanoid robots. Fei Fong-Wong is trapped in the middle of this crisis and he must scour the the world with his allies to find the truth about his own past as well as the dstructive power that lie within him. Nothing is as it seems and as the story unravels Fei begins to question who he really is and his purpose.

Unlike most RPGs, this utilized a dual battle system. When you are not in a gear you have the standard choices of attack, defend, magic, item, and run. Attacking however is not as easy as other RPGs. Although this is turn-based you also have a certain amount of attack points. Certain combinations of moves cost more attack points (AP) than others and can lead to more powerful attack combos. AP can also be stored for future use. When a gear is involved you have to worry about the level of fuel and if you run out you can use a 'charge' move where you increase your fuel amount by a small amount, but leaving the Gear vulnerable to attack.
