  • X is an American punk rock independent band closely connected with the Los Angeles punk scene of the 1970s and 1980s.
  • Career

With its roots in a poetry workshop attended by John Doe and Exene Cervenka, X, while associated with the same Los Angeles punk rock scene that spawned Black Flag, The Germs, and The Dead Boys, has always had a more literary approach to their music. Early albums, especially Wild Gift, played as much with rockabilly riffs as with rapid-fire punk rhythms. In later years, X allowed their blues and country influences to further color their sound on albums like See How We Are. X continues to tour and record.
