The X-Men were created for Marvel Comics in the 1960s. The comic book series has inspired a popular film franchise, culminating in 2006's X-Men: The Last Stand, directed by Brett Ratner. Rumors of a fourth installment in the series abound. The rumors state that there will be new members of the cast, with many of the old cast members not returning. There is also talk of a "young Magneto" being introduced.
