• The State of Wyoming is located in the western part of the U.S., bordered on the north by Montana, on the east by South Dakota and Nebraska. Utah and Colorado border to the south, and Idaho borders to the west. Wyoming is the tenth largest state in size, but has the least population with just 522,830 people in 2007. Wyoming became the 44th state on July 10, 1890.

    The Rocky Mountains and the Great Plains meet in the state of Wyoming. The state is a plateau with scattered mountain ranges. Elevations range from 13,804 at the summit of Gannett Peak to just 3,125 in the northeast corner. The ranges found in the north are the Absaroka, Owl Creek, Teton and Wind River Mountain Range. To the south lies the Laramie, Snowy and Sierra Madre ranges.
  • Yellowstone National Park

    The Yellowstone National Park is located in the north-west part of Wyoming. It extends into Montana and Idaho as well. The park is home to the famous Old Faithful Geyser. In 1872, Yellowstone became the world's first National Park.
