    Each WWE wrestler has his or her own entrance music. "Faces" (good guys) generally have loud, upbeat themes, while "heels" (bad guys) get slower, darker ones.

    Theme songs are generally played before and after matches to inform viewers who is going to the ring, and later who won the match. As a storytelling device, the WWE often uses music as a segue between storylines during their shows.

    Nearly all WWE themes were composed and recorded by Jim Johnston. On some releases, artists like Motorhead, Creed and Kid Rock have performed interpretations of Johnston's compositions.
