During the March 30, 2008 WWE WrestleMania XXIV event at the Citrus Bowl, a fireworks display caused 45 injuries when cables and debris landed in the crowd. The display, part of an introduction for wrestler The Undertaker, ended with a flaming rocket firing into the upper deck, leaving dozens of fans with burns and other minor injuries.
There were further complaints about delays in getting emergency teams into the crowd to help those who were hurt by the malfunction.
Fireworks displays are common at WWE events, and in fact were featured at a "Monday Night Raw" event the following night without incident.
