Backlash is an annual professional wrestling event held by World Wrestling Entertainment.
The 2009 Backlash event took place on April 26, 2009, at 8 PM EST in Providence, Rhode Island. Three titles were up for grabs, including the World Heavyweight Championship, the WWE Championship, and the ECW Championship.
Background
Backlash is currently the follow-up pay-per-view to WrestleMania, often featuring rematches and continuing storylines from that event.
The first Backlash in 1999 had the same main event as WrestleMania XV, pitting Stone Cold Steve Austin against The Rock.
