  The film explores the relationships, love, heartache and revenge of Heathcliff, an orphan from Liverpool, and his foster sister Catherine Earnshaw, his children and others. Heathcliff spends most of his life exacting revenge on those who have harmed him or those he has perceived to have caused him pain.
