Wrong Turn

Wrong Turn is a horror film about a group of college students who get lost in the mountains of West Virginia and encounter a pack of inbred cannibals and the race is on to survive. Wrong Turn was released May 30, 2003 and grossed $5,161,498 on opening weekend.

Director Rob Schmidt proves himself a committed hack, letting the eardrum-crushing Dolby sound do the talking for Alan B. McElroy's script. There's one nicely staged scene in the hicks' creep-show of a home -- jars of pickled body parts and a cauldron abubble with more -- from which the kids try to escape while the killers sleep.
