WrestleMania V was the second consecutive WrestleMania to take place at Trump Plaza in Atlantic City.WWE.com: WrestleMania V Venue Following WrestleMania IV, Hulk Hogan and then-WWE Champion Randy Savage became friends and formed a tag team, The Mega Powers. Their manager was Savage's longtime valet, Miss Elizabeth.As the year progressed, Savage became increasingly jealous of Hogan's popularity and supposed affinity for Elizabeth, resulting in a bitter feud that culminated in the main event of WrestleMania V.WWE.com: WrestleMania V Main Event
The pay-per-view was also notable for a "Piper's Pit" interview segment between Roddy Piper and Morton Downey Jr. During the interview, Downey Jr. kept smoking cigarettes despite Piper's requests to put them out.
