WrestleMania 23 was the 23rd annual WrestleMania event produced by World Wrestling Entertainment. The event took place at Ford Field and was the second WrestleMania held in Detroit (WrestleMania III was held at the Pontiac Silverdome). WrestleMania 23 set the all-time attendance record at Ford Field with 80,103 fans. It was also the largest audience for a WWE event since SummerSlam 1992 at Wembley Stadium.
One of the main feuds was between Vince McMahon and Donald Trump. Each man had a wrestler represent them in a match with Bobby Lashley representing Trump and Umaga representing McMahon. The losing wrestler's manager would then have his head shaved. Lashley ended up beating Umaga with Stone Cold Steve Austin acting as special guest referee. The group of Trump, Lashley, and Austin proceeded to shave McMahon's head in a barber chair set up in the middle of the ring.
Other matches included Mr. Kennedy winning the Money in the Bank Ladder Match, The Undertaker defeating Batista to win the World Heavyweight Championship (and go to 15-0 at WrestleMania), and John Cena beating Shawn Michaels to retain the WWE Championship. Fast Facts:
- Date: April 1, 2007
