Guide Organization
This guide is divided into a few different sections. The body of the guide focuses on quests and mob grinding to level as quickly as possible. Below that is information about the new instances introduced in the expansion. At the end of the guide are links to useful sites and addons that helped streamline the leveling process. Also, there is a mini guide to WotLK PvP: Lake Wintergrasp's world PvP and the new battleground Strand of the Ancients. -
Creation of the Lich King
According to the lore of World of Warcraft, the Lich King was created when Ner'Zhul, an elder orc shaman, was punished by the demon lord, Kil'jaeden, for refusing to turn his people over to the ranks of the Burning Crusade. Kil'jaeden tortured Ner'zhul before offering a final ultimatum: serve the Legion unconditionally or suffer eternal agony. Ner'zhul agreed to the former and was reborn as the Lich King, a terrifying and powerful agent of the Legion.Ner'zhul's spirit was magically shackled to a suit of ancient armor and bound to the mighty runeblade Frostmourne. Kil'jaeden sealed the armor and blade in a magical block of ice, which was then cast into the unsuspecting world of Azeroth, settling in the desolate, snowy wastes of Northrend.
Lich King holds dominion over the undead. He created a plague of undeath that spread through the lands of Azeroth, destroying humanity and creating an army of undead faithful to the Burning Legion.Official Site: Rise of the Lich King Story

How to Use This Guide
- Quest information is given in the following simple format:
- Quest: Enlistment Day - Recruitment Officer Blythe - Speak with General Arlos
- The first segment gives the quest name, second is the name of the NPC who gives the quest, and last is a very basic summary of the quest objective. When available, click on the quest name to be taken to an external site for detailed information like quest description, rewards and experience.
- Locations, when necessary, are given using coordinates. World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King does not provide coordinate information by default. To use the provided coordinates, it's necessary to install a mod that adds this functionality. TomTom or the LocationFu plug-in for FuBar 3.5 are a couple of options.
- There are a number of achievements tied to each zone, requiring the entire map to be uncovered or a certain number of quests to be completed. Since the focus of this guide is leveling, it will not touch on individual achievements other than to make note of them.
About the Characters
- Two characters are writing this guide: a level 70 Shaman for the Horde, and a level 70 Night Elf Druid.
Death Knight General Information
- Anyone who has a character of level 55 or higher on a server can create a Death Knight on that server, if you have an available slot. You can only make one per server, though.
- The first major choice is which race to play. Aside from physical appearance, be sure to read the racial bonuses for each. Do you want the dwarf's stoneskin ability? The gnome's extra intelligence?
- Keep in mind that humans and gnomes have a racial ability that helps them get out of traps and movement impairing effects, and that the night elves have shadow-meld, which was slightly changed in the 3.0 patch.
- If you're starting a Death Knight, you've been around the block a few times. The starting area is fairly compact. One thing to remember: the red glowing circle is used to transport you between stories of the building you start in.
- Another thing you'll notice -- you get a mount very quickly. But in the two quests before you get your own horse ("Grand Theft Palomino" being the first), you'll notice a new control scheme. This is used for multiple conveyances in the game, and features a distinctive action bar. Be sure to read the buttons (by mousing over them) before you ride off on anything.
- Soon, you'll get the opportunity to fire stationary weapons. This may take some getting used to. As opposed to right clicking on where you want to fire (as you would do with bombs dropped from birds), you're going to move the cannon by clicking and holding the right mouse and moving it around. You'll see a line showing the trajectory, and a circle showing the impact area. It takes a bit of getting used to, but once you get the hang of it, you'll be blasting away in no time.
- A couple of other notes. You'll soon run across Prince Keleseth in his tomb in the country side. He'll send you on a few quests. Stuck on the wall in the back of the crypt is a guy doing his best Spider-Man impression. He can do repairs, and you can sell off your junk there. He's easy to miss, if you don't usually look on the walls for vendors.
- At some point you're going to have to find citizens in fields full of peasants and soldiers. Here's the tip: citizens run, screaming. Just look for the NPC who's freaking out -- then kill them. No one said Death Knights were nice guys.
- When looking for a cauldron for the Plaguebringer's Request, don't forget to check in the basement....because that's where it is.
- And you'll notice right away that your Death Knight begins life at (level) 55. He won't have any talent points to assign. Don't panic. Each quest will give you a handful of talent points to assign, as well as gold and experience. By the time you're ready to leave the starting area, you'll be well up the talent tree.
- You'll also leave the starting area with a full set of blue gear, if you do all of the quests. Not bad.
Starting Area
- There are two possible starting areas for leveling from 70-72: Howling Fjord and Borean Tundra. Each contains enough quests so that it's only necessary to visit one before moving on to a higher level area. This guide will take players to both areas, since what we're after are quests and the mobs will be easier to kill in lower level areas.
In Service of the Lich King
- Questgiver The Lich King 51, 35
- Talk to the Lich King, standing right in front of you. He'll hand you the quest "In Service Of the Lich King," which tells you to talk to Instructor Razuvious inside Ebon Hold. He'll also prattle on for about a minute and a half. Cool if you're into the lore--if not, feel free to skip it.
- Reward: 825 exp
The Emblazoned Runeblade
- Questgiver: Instructor Razuvious 49, 27
- Go to any of the weapon racks against the wall to loot a battle-worn sword. Then go to a nearby runeforge and use the sword. It'll turn into a runebladed sword.
- Reward: 16350 exp; Runeforging, a Death Knight specific profession; Runed Soulblade (blue weapon.)
Runeforging: Preperation For Battle
- Questgiver: 'Instructor Razuvious 49 27

- Reward: 12250 exp
The Endless Hunger
- Questgiver: 'Instructor Razuvious 49, 27
- Go to the center ring and free an unworthy initiate, who will then attack you. Here's your chance to experience the new Death Knight combat system.
- NOTE The Death Knight combat system is unique to World of Warcraft. It runs off of runes and runic power. Using abilities that cost one of your 6 runes (2 each of blood, frost and unholy) will generate runic power, which you need to use other abilities like death coil.
- Reward: 12250 exp
Death Comes From On High
- Questgiver: 'The Lich King 51, 35
- Go to the pedestal to the left and use it to control the Eye of Acherus. It will automatically make its way towards New Avalon, where you'll need to use its Siphon ability on the Forge, Town Hall, Scarlet Hold and Chapel. Be careful not to fly too low, because scarlet watchmen will shoot up at you. The Forge and Scarlet Hold are just a bit to the west from the point where you get to New Avalon, within sight. The Town Hall is also within sight, to the east. The Chapel is further back, in the orchard. Once you've siphoned them all, right click the buff that the eye gives you to get back to your body at The Scarlet Enclave.
- Reward: 12250 exp
The Might of the Scourge
- Questgiver: 'The Lich King 51, 35

Grand Theft Palomino
- Questgiver: 'Salanar the Horseman 53, 36
- Find the stables in Havenshire and right-click on a horse to hop on. (Watch out for the level 56 elite horseman guarding them.) This will open up the new vehicle interface that appears many times in the Lich King. This vehicle, the horse, has two abilities. Gallop, and Deliver to Salanar the Horseman, back in town. Ride the horse like any mount, using the gallop ability if you need an extra burst of speed. Find Salanar, walking the path in the middle of the road, and Deliver the horse to him.
- Reward: 12250 exp; 1 talent point
Into the Realm of Shadows
- Questgiver: 'Salanar the Horseman 53, 36
- While in the Realm of Shadows, make your way back to Havenshire and defeat the Dark Rider. Once you do, steal his horse, ride it back to town and use its "Horseman's Call" ability. If, for some reason, you leave the realm of shadows before you complete the quest, go back to Salanar in town and he'll send you there again.
- Reward: 16350 exp; 2 talent points; Journeyman Riding skill; Epic mount; Sigil of the Dark Rider (sigil)
- NOTE: By now, you should have reached level 56. You should have received a number of blue items, as well as an epic mount and 7 talent points. Be sure to train up for new skills, and to use your new items!
The Gift That Keeps on Giving
- Questgiver: 'Gothik the Harvester
- Go to the Havenshire Mine and throw the "Gift of the Harvester" at the miners. This should turn them into ghouls, which will follow you. It might also sometimes release a ghost you'll have to kill. When you have 5 ghouls following you, return to Gothik in town.
- Reward: 12250 exp, 1 talent point; Soul Harvester's Charm (trinket)
Massacre at Light's Point
- Questgiver: Prince Valanar 52, 34
- Go back to the Havenshire Mine and hop in the mine car that's right outside it, by the outhouse. A miner will take you past the elites and onto a boat. Once you're there, hop onto a scarlet cannon, just like the horse you did earlier. Use the Scarlet Cannon ability to hit the enemies on the beach. Use the EMP ability if they get too close, and use the Grypon escape button once you've reached 100 kills to return to town.
- Reward: 16350 exp; 1 talent point; Plated Saronite Bracers (blue bracers)
The Crypt of Remembrance
- Questgiver: Prince Valanar 52, 34
- Report to Prince Keleseth at the Crypt. The Crypt is located past Havenshire (which by now has been completely infested with the undead, and therefore safe) right before the walls of New Avalon. Be sure to pick up Noth the Plaguebringer's quest on the way.
- Reward: 825 exp
The Plaguebringer's Request
- Questgiver: Noth The Plaguebringer 55, 52
- Inside New Avalon, pick up the cauldron from the inn basement, the Iron Chain from the forge, and 10 Crusader skulls from the humans in the town. Make a left once you get inside the town to hit the inn first, then the forge a little later on.
- Reward: 12250 exp; 2 talent points; The Plaguebringer's Girdle (blue belt)
How to Win Friends and Influence Enemies
- Questgiver: Prince Kaleseth 54, 57
- Open the box and equip the "persuaders," which are two swords. Head back into New Avalon and attack the soldiers to make them talk. Be careful not to use any of your spells. You want them to live long enough for them to tell you what they know so you can complete the quest.
- Reward: 12250 exp; 2 talent points; Keleseth's Signet Ring (blue ring)
Bloody Breakout
- Questgiver: Koltira Deathweaver 63, 68
- Kill the waves of mobs that come into the basement until the inquisitor comes, then kill him as well. Be sure to stay in the anti-magic bubble that Deatheweaver puts up. You'll take a lot more damage from spells if you go outside it. If the enemies are too far away for you to attack them, use Death Grip to yank them closer.
- Reward: 12350 exp; 2 talent points, Saronite War Plate (blue chest piece)
Ambush at the Overlook
- Questgiver: Orbaz Bloodbane 56, 80
- Head to the Overlook, which is due east of the tavern, about a ten second ride away. Use the Makeshift Cover to conceal yourself while you wait for the courier you need to kill. (He actually won't spawn if you don't use the item) Kill him, loot the two quest items and return to the tavern.
- Reward: 12250 exp; 1 talent point
A Meeting With Fate
- Questgiver: Orbaz Bloodbane 56, 80
- You must go to the King's Harbor and speak with High General Abbendis. You'll be disguised as the courier you killed, so don't worry about the soldiers attacking you. Just make your way down the road from the Overlook leading into the harbor and locate the general.
- Reward: 12250 exp; 2 talent points
An End to All Things
- Questgiver: The Lich King 53, 36
- Use the Horn of the Frostbrood to summon a Frost Wyrm to Ride. Then wipe out 150 Scarlet Soldiers and 10 Scarlet Ballistas. The best place to do this is by the overlook---just over the harbor. There's a ton of them there. Use the frostwyrm's Frozen Deathbolt ability to attack everything in sight. Use the Devour Humanoid ability to regain health and mana. And watch out for those ballistas. They pack quite a punch.
- Reward: 16350 exp; 6 talent points; Greathelm of the Scourge Champion (blue helm)
The Lich King's Command
- Questgiver: The Lich King 53, 36
- Report to Scourge Commander Thalanor at Brownman's Mill. If you quested in the Eastern Plaguelands on an earlier character, this area will be very familiar. You can get there either through Tyr's Hand, or through a cave behind Ebon Hold that leads into the Noxious Glade.
- Reward: 825 exp
The Light of Dawn
- Questgiver: Scourge Commander Thalanor 34, 30
- Talk to Mograine at Browman Mill to get the quest rolling. There will be a bit of a wait before they mach in to Light's Hope Chapel in order to facilitate other players who are on the same quest. When they start marching, go with them. A huge battle ensues---kill everything in sight until the Lich King shows up. Then sit back and watch the story unfold.
- Reward: 16350 exp; 6 talent points; choice of blue weapon; Death Gate (Death Knight Skill, allowing the Death Knight to make a portal to Ebon Hold)
The Battle for Ebon Hold
- Questgiver: Highlord Darion Mograine 83, 49
- Use the nearby teleportation pad to warp to the top floor and wipe out the remaining Scourge in Ebon Hold and Patchwerk, the huge Abomination in the middle. If you don't have a group to help you with him, drag him back to the Knights of the Ebon Blade at the front of the room. They'll help you take him down.
- Reward: 12250 exp
Where King's Walk
- Questgiver: Highlord Darion Mograine 83, 49
- Deliver a letter to the king of Stormwind. Take the portal behind Mograine to reach the city.
- Reward: 12250 exp
- Congratulations! You've successfully completed the Death Knight quests with grace and flair. The rest of the game is open to you, now. The best option for leveling is to head to the Outlands, if you're level 58, and start there.
Spells
- NOTE: For the purposes of this guide, all spells are considered to be for a level 80 Death Knight
Blood
- Blood Boil
- Cost: 1 blood
- Causes diseases to erupt, causing minimal damage.
- Works better with Pestilence, when you can stick your diseases are on multiple mobs, and it primarily used for tanking purposes to keep aggro.
- Blood Strike
- Cost: 1 blood
- Instant attack, causing 50% weapon damage +214, plus an additional 107 damage for each disease.
- Powerful attack, more powerful with diseases on your target. Can be replaced with Heart Strike, though, which is deep in the blood tree.
- Blood Tap
- Cost: None
- Turns a blood rune into a death rune
- Death runes are wild cards. They can be used for any ability requiring runes. If you find yourself waiting on that 10 second cooldown for your runes, activate this instead. Very useful.
- Dark Command
- Cost: None
- Commands the target to attack you, but has no effect if they target is already attacking you.
- It's a taunt, used for tanking.
- Death Pact
- Cost: 40 Runic Power
- Sacrifices your undead minion, healing you 20% of your maximum health.
- A nice ability to hit if you're running low on health. Makes ghouls more worthwhile for a blood specced Death Knight.
- Heart Strike
- Cost: 1 blood
- Instant attack, causing 60% weapon damage +248, plus an additional 124 per disease. Also prevents the target from using haste effects for 10 seconds.
- A more powerful Blood Strike. A must-have for blood-specced Death Knights.
- Pestilence
- Cost: 1 blood
- Causes 65-79 shadow damage to enemies within 15 yards. Also spreads diseases.
- The point of this spell is to spread diseases, not its negligible damage. It's a good way to Blood Boil entire group to keep aggro on you, if you're tanking.
- Strangulate
- Cost: 1 blood
- Silences the target for 5 seconds and causes 180 shadow damage at the end of the effect.
- Silence ability. Great to have. The damage at the end is just a bonus.
- Blood Presence
- Cost: 1 blood
- Increases damage by 15%, heals yo by 2% of the damage you deal.
- The %15 extra damage this presence gives makes it the standard dps presence.
Frost
- Chains of Ice
- Cost: 1 frost
- Initially roots target.Target regains 10% of movement speed each second for 10 seconds.
- Not so great in PvE unless a mob is running away and you want to stop him. Works much better in PvP.
- Empower Rune Weapon
- Cost: None
- Generates 25 Runic Power
- Not bad if you want to Mind Freeze someone and don't have the RP to do it. It's 5-minute cooldown hampers its usability somewhat.
- Horn of Winter
- Cost: 20 Runic Power
- Increases Strength and Agility of party by 155 for 2 minutes.
- There's really no reason not to have this up all the time. It's an excellent buff.
- Icebound Fortitude
- Cost: 20 Runic Power
- Immune to stun and damage taken is cut in half.
- Excellent tanking skill. Be sure to use it often.
- Icy Touch
- Cost: 1 frost
- Causes 227-225 frost damage as well as causing Frost Fever, which reduced the target's melee and ranged attack speed by 20%.
- Death Knights run off of keeping diseases on their targets to allow their other abilities to cause more damage. Be sure to use this frequently to keep the disease up.
- Mind Freeze
- Cost: 20 Runic Power
- Interrupts spell-casting and prevents any spell in that school from being cast for 4 seconds.
- Another silence/inturrupt. Use as needed.
- Obliterate
- Cost: 1 unholy, 1 frost
- Instant attack that caused 100% weapon damage +292, plus another 146 for each disease on target. It consumes diseases.
- A devastating attack. A lot of Death Knight builds run off of this skill.
- Path of Frost
- Cost: 1 frost
- Causes you and your party to be able to walk on water, even while mounted.
- Excellent utility skill. Use as needed.
- Rune Strike
- Cost: 20 Runic Power
- Strikes the target for 200% weapon damage +462. Can only be used after an attack is dodged or parried.
- Even more damage than obliterate, when it's up. When you see it become available, drop everything and hit it.
- Frost Presence
- Cost: 1 frost
- Total health increased by 10%, armor contribution from items increased by 60%, reduces spell damage taken by 5%, greatly increases threat.
- This is the presence you'll want to be in for tanking. Even aside from the health and armor contributions, keep in mind that you'll need it to keep aggro.
Unholy
- Anti-Magic Shell
- Cost: 20 Runic Power
- Absorbs 75% of the damage of harmful spells as well as preventing the application of any incoming harmful magical effects. Damage is converted into Runic Power.
- Excellent skill for taking casters, both in PvE and PvP.
- Army of the Dead
- Cost: 1 blood, 1 frost, 1 unholy
- Summons an army (8) of undead ghouls to fight for you.
- One of the more interesting Death Knight skills. It's useful for bosses, and just to play around with.
- Death and Decay
- Cost: 1 blood, 1 frost, 1 unholy
- Corrupts the ground targeted, causing 62 shadow damage a second and a large amount of threat.
- Very useful for tanking, and for AoEing when running instance (though be careful not to pull more aggro than you want!)
- Death Coil
- Cost: 40 Runic Power
- Causes 443 shadow damage to an enemy or heals 664 health to a friendly undead target
- Primarily used for damage. It's a good ability to use while you're waiting for your runes to get off cooldown.
- Death Gate
- Cost: 1 unholy
- Creates a portal to Ebon Hold
- Very useful skill, especially when you need to go back there to train.
- Death Grip
- Cost: None
- Draws the targeted enemy close and causes it to attack the Death Knight for 3 seconds.
- Another form of taunt, but also the most fun skill the Death Knight has, hands down. Using it at an enemy 30 feet away will drag him all the way towards you. There's no greater sense of satisfaction in the game.
- Death Strike
- Cost: 1 unholy 1 frost
- Deals 60% weapons damage +168. Also heals the Death Knight for a percent of damage done for each disease on the target.
- This skill is a good way to regenerate health during an instance if you're healer is low on mana. It's also good for world PvE. Useful all around.
- Plague Strike
- Cost: 1 unholy
- Deals 30% weapon damage +113 and cases blood plague, a disease that deals shadow damage over time.
- Again, this is one of those diseases you'll want to keep up to make your other abilities that much more effective.
- Raise Dead
- Cost: None
- Raises an undead minion to fight for you for two minutes.
- This ability really shines when you're specced unholy--the minion won't disappear unless its killed. Even if you're not unholy, though, extra damage never hurt, and you could always sacrifice it using Death Pact to regain 20% of your health.
- Unholy Presence
- Cost: 1 unholy
- Increases attack speed by 15%, movement speed by 15% and lowers the global cooldown on all abilities by .5 seconds.
- Typically considered the PvP spec. Blood presence allows for more damage, even with the increased attack speed.
- NOTE on talents: There's no wrong way to spec your Death Knight, but it's important to keep a few things in mind.
- Blood is typically considered a dps spec that excels at taking single targets and walking away unscathed.
- Unholy is typically considered a dps spec that excels at AoE--taking a large number of targets and killing them all at once. You just won't be as powerful against a single target as you might as a blood specced Death Knight.
- Frost in considered the tanking spec.
- That isn't to say can't dps with Frost or Tank with Blood/Unholy--in fact, the Death Knight is pretty versatile that way, specifically. However, you'll find the best dps/Aoe/Tanking abilities deep in their respective trees, to be sure to spec accordingly.
- This concludes the Death Knight portion of the Wrath of the Lich King walkthrough

- The northwest tower is located on the lowest tier of Skorn, near the barracks. Use the flare gun at a distance.
- The next tower is located up a slight hill to the far right of the complex. From that tower, head to the middle of the three levels of Skorn. Head all the way to the end of the rise and destroy the east tower.
- Return to the hill, and walk up to the third level where the castle is located. Just past the castle is the final guard tower.
- Return all of these quests to the Winterhoof Brave (if he has died, just reuse the emblem). Completing all three leads to The Conqueror of Scorn.
- Quest: Stop the Ascension - Vyrkul Scroll of Ascension - Use the scroll to summon the Vyrkul leader
- To start this quest, you must find the Vyrkul Scroll of Ascension. It is a random drop off of Vyrkul mobs located inside of Skorn.

- You will find the warriors, rune-casters, and sleep-watchers all on the outside of the level, on all three landings. Kill the required amount.
- Be careful of wandering elites. If you are not watching, they will wander into you while you are questing and quickly kill you.

- Kill Vile and loot his horn.
- Use the horn to summon Glacius the Frosty Wyrm. It is suggested that you have a second player helping you to complete this quest. Galcius has very powerful physical attacks, as well as frost magic that can do heavy damage in an area of effect. No matter what your group make up, the best strategy is to concentrate on doing as much DPS as possible. Glacius does not have much HP for an elite monster, and will fall quickly. It is possible to solo Galcius, although it can be difficult. Classes which use pets might be able to handle Glacius on their own.
- Return to Celea Frozenmane
- Quest: Of Cages and Keys - Greatmother Ankha - Free the prisoners in Gjalerbron
- In Gjalerbron, kill random enemies to receive keys. Large keys will open the giant cage in the middle of the city, giving you credit for five prisoners rescued. Small keys will open the small cages, which give credit for one rescue. Return to Ankha. This quest leads to The Walking Dead.

- Return to Gjalerbron. You must kill three different types of undead and they are all located in different areas.
- You can find the Fearsome Horrors in the Waking Halls. The Waking Halls are located at the bottom of the great stairs that lead up to the Gjalerbron castle. They can do quite a bit of damage to non-plate users, but should not prove too difficult as long as you stay healthy.
- The Putrid Wights can be found patrolling the terrace where you fought Glacion, and also on either side of the door leading to the entrance to the castle.
- The Deathless Watchers can be found sitting motionless on the sides of any of the high ledges of the castle. Find then in areas where the necromancers spawn. They can also be seen flying overhead on occasion.

Giant's Run
- The Giant's Run quest area is filled with difficult elite giants and their iron dwarf keepers. Most of the quests relating to Giant's Run originate in Camp Winterhoof. While adventuring here, be very, very careful as death can come swiftly from a roving Stone Giant with little warning.
- Quest: The Book of Runes - Longrunner Pembe - Assemble the book of runes
- From Camp Winterhoof, head east along the road. Continue east past The Frozen Glade.
- You will find Iron Rune Stonecallers and Iron Rune Binders. Kill them.

- Quest: The Rune of Command - Longrunner Pembe - Enslave a stone giant and kill Binder Murdis
- Return to Giant's Run from Winterhoof. Near the center the zone, near the campfires and tents, you should find a stone giant (not a runed stone giant).
- Use the rune in your inventory to make the stone giant your guardian. He is very powerful and can tank elites with some careful planning.
- You can find Binder Murdis in the north-east section of Giant's Run, near a campfire. He does not look different from other dwarves, so make sure to check names! Make sure you have the stone giant with you when you kill him. He should die easily.
- Return to Pembe to complete the quest
- Quest: March of the Giant's - Sage Edan - Examine four runed stone giant corpses
- In Giant's Run, binders will periodically enchant regular stone giants, binding them to their will. These runed stone giants become hostile and continue to wander the area.
- This quest normally requires two or three players to complete. The stone giants are elite and can do damage very fast. In addition to their regular melee attacks which hit very hard, they have a DOT that ticks off 600 HP for second. Kill them as fast as possible, and if you have a tank, try to keep them alive.
- After they are killed, anyone can use the pick to examine their corpse. This mean it is possible for someone to "ninja loot" your kill. Be quick about using the pick on them if other players are hanging around.
- Soloing Runed Stone Giants - While very difficult, stone giants can be soloed. Any druid should be able to defeat them by using snared and ranged attacks. Other classes with spells that reduce movement speed can also solo them (mages, shaman) through kiting. Warriors, rogues, priests, and paladins will have a very difficult time soloing a giant unless they are significantly higher than level 70.
- Return to Sage Edan. This quest leads to The Lodestone
- Quest: The Lodestone - Sage Edan - Compare the runes at the lodestone.
- Head back to Giant's Run. Follow the snow line along the western border. You will see a large, targetable stone slab near a tree. This is the lodestone.

- Quest: Demolishing Megalith - Sage Edan - Destroy Megalith
- From Camp Winterhoof, head northwest into the Frostblade peaks. Follow the path that leads up the mountain to the west. Look over the edges of the mountain until you see Megalith, a large green stone giant. You should be able to safely descend down the mountain to where he is wandering.
- Kill Megalith. The quest claims that three players are needed, but he is actually easier to kill than the runed stone giants. Most classes should be able to solo him if they have some potions and are willing to blow cooldowns. He hits very hard, but has low HP. Warlocks should beware, however, as he is immune to fear.
- Return to Edan for a gold reward.
The Frozen Glade
- The Frozen Glade is a small quest area where players will kill corrupted wildlife and elementals for the nymphs of the glade. - You will enter the city and fight a wave of undead traitors. Your character should be super-buffed by Thrall and Sylvanas so go to town. When larger, boss type monsters spawn try and let thrall do the tanking while you provide DPS. Even by your lonesome the battle shouldn't be too difficult.
- You will continue inside. When you reach the elevator, wait for Thrall to summon a wind to safely carry you down the shaft. If you do not you will die and possibly fail the event.
- After you enter the merchant's circle in the Undercity, you will be attacked again. Kill the enemies much as you did before. Try not to run off. It is almost impossible for you to die, but it is still a possibility.
- Thrall and Sylvanas will continue deeper into the Undercity, towards the Apothecarium. You will fight a wave of demons before you reach the final destination: Varimathras.
- In the battle Varimathras will have portals open and spawning opponets in every corner of the room. Help Thrall and Sylvanas defeat them. As the battle rages on the portals will close one after another. When they are all closed, the player and his allies will battle Varimathras
- In the battle with Varimathras it is paramount that players allow Thrall to tank. Even with all the extra health and regeneration granted to the players, he could easily kill them. Players should either be at max range or attacking from behind Varimathras during this battle.
- When Varimathras is finally defeated, watch the final cut scene and return to Thrall for your reward- your choice of a blue item that is likely to serve any class well, possibly even all the way to level 80. Players will then be teleported out.

This will open up all of the remaining quest lines in Conquest Hold.
- Quest: Ruuna the Blind - Gorgonna -Speak with Ruuna the Blind
- From Conquest Hold, head east across the river until you reach Grizzlemaw. To the west of the complex Ruuna has set up camp on a small hill. Speak with her. This leads to the quest Ruuna's Request

- Quest: Fate and Coincidence - Ruuna the Blind - Speak with Sasha
- After speaking with Ruuna, loop around Grizzlemaw to get to the eastern side. It is simplest to go around the southern circumference. Sasha is at the White Pine Trading Post, south of Solstice Village. This opens a number of Solstice Village related quests.
Solstice Village
- A medium-sized quest hub located in central Grizzly Hills. Solstice Village has been taken over and corrupted by the worgen. Players will join the few remaining humans in reclaiming the land and seeking revenge on those that perpetrated the massacres.

- From Sasha's Camp, head east towards Solstice Village. Solstice Hunters wander randomly. Kill 12 and return to Sasha.
- Quest: Anatoly Will Talk - Sasha - Bring Tatjana to Sasha
- Head into Solstice Village. Near the top, there is a stable/pasture area near the blacksmith. When Tatjana is on her horse, use the tranquilizer gun (provided by Sasha) to put her to sleep. Get on the horse and it will automatically return you to Sasha. Watch the scene that plays out. This leads to the quest A Sister's Pledge.
- Quest: A Sister's Pledge - Sasha - Find Sasha's Sister
- Head to the large cave to the east, located near the Taunka camp You can find Anya inside. This leads to the quest Hour of the Worg
Camp Oneqwah
- This Taunka settlement is the second of two major Horde cities in Grizzly Hills. Here you can build golems, deal with the local wildlife, and help the Taunka protect the natural balance of the great northern woods. A small hut acts as an inn so be sure to check there if you're logging out.
- Quest: Onward to Camp Oneqwah - Sergeant Nazgrim - Head to Camp Oneqwah
- Accept the quest and head to the east. Follow the road all the way past Grizzlemaw. You will find Camp Oneqwah nestled into the mountain side side northeast of the road. Be careful that you don't go too far north as there are hostile enemy camps in the nearby vicinity. Speak with Scout Vor'takh in town to complete the quest.
- Quest: The Unexpected Guest - Tormak the Scarred - Collect stag horns.
- In the hills surrounding Camp Oneqwhat live silvercoat stags. Kill them until you have collected 5 stag horns. Return to Tormak. This leads to the quest An Intriguing Plan.
- Quest: An Intriguing Plan - Tormak the Scarred - Retrieve a complete blueprint form Dun Argol
- Head southeast from Oneqwah. Follow the path lined with elementals up to Dun Argol. The Iron Rune-Smiths have the blueprint pieces you need. They are mainly found inside of buildings, but they do also wander around the common areas outside as well. They will drop three separate pieces of a blueprint. When you have all three, use one of them to assemble it. Return it to Prospector Rokar. This leads to the quest From the Ground Up.
- Quest: From the Ground up - Prospector Rokar - Collect Golem Parts
- Return to Dun Argol. Around the town are pieces of golem. Collect them. They can be found both indoors and out, although there is a greater concentration inside of the workshops. This leads to the quest We Have the Power
- Quest: We Have the Power - Prospector Rokar - Collect power cells
- Return to Dun Argol. Head to the middle level, a landing with two workshops on opposite sides of the cliff face, in front of a large set of stairs. In each of the two work shops is a named rune smith. Kill both Duror and Kathorn, loot their power cells, and return to Rokar. This leads to the quest ... Or Maybe We Don't.
- Quest: ... Or Maybe We Don't - Prospector Rokar - Charge the golem
- The long path leading up to Dun Argol and the hills surrounding it are patrolled by lightning sentries. Use the golem remote control provided by Rokar to bring out your golem. Kill the sentries with the golem active to charge it. The lightning sentries can be very difficult for nature based classes (shamans, druids), so keep that in mind. Kill the totems they drop quickly as they can unleash a lightning attack that does over 1K damage. Kill 10 and return to Rokar. This leads to the quest Bringing Down the Iron Thane
- Quest: Bringing Down the Iron Thane - Prospector Rokar - Kill the Iron Thane using the Golem
- In Dun Argol, head all the way to the top, following the large stairs. Enter the large building at the top. There is a large circular recess with three small elevators providing access up and down. Use them. This is where Thane Furyhammer and The Anvil are. Use the remote control to summon the golem given to you by Prospector Rokar. Engage Thane Furyhammer, using the EMP skill to stun The Anvil which will remove the Thane's shield. Attack him until the shield returns and then use the EMP to remove it again. This is an easy fight. If you decide to attack The Anvil, it should be another easy (but long) fight as it does not hit for much damage. Return to Camp Oneqwah to receive your reward.
- Quest: The Horse Hollerer - Soulok Stormfury - Scare the mustangs away from the alliance
- Head northeast of Camp Oneqwah. Large herds of mustang can be found running around the Westfall Brigade and further north near Thor Modan. Use the flashbang to scare them. The herds move quickly, so try and leads them a little bit when you throw. There are also a few solitary ones standing around that you can use to round out your quota. Scare 15 and return.
- Quest: An Expedient Ally - Scout Vor'takh - Speak with the rock giant to the north
- Head northeast from town and then follow the path leading north from Thor Modan. Along the cliffs overlooking the city is Kurun. SPeak with him. THis leads to the quest Raining Down Destruction.
- Quest: Raining Down Destruction - Kurun - Disrupt iron dwarf activity
- To the west are other rock giants throwing debris down at the dwarves through a crevice in the hillside. Pick up a boulder and throw it at the dwarves walking below. Hit five and return to Kurun. THis leads to the quest Rallying the Troops
- Quest: Rallying the Troops - Kurun - Bolster the rock giants in battle
- In the open field behind the cliff's edge are other rock giants battling runed giants. Click on a battling allied giant and click on the shard of earth that Kurun provided you to buff them. After you have helped the giant, a dwarf avenger will burrow out of the ground. Kill it. Repeat this process until you have aided 5 giants and return to Kurun. This leads to the quest Into the Breech.
- Quest: Into the Breech - Kurun - Kill the Thane of the Iron Dwarves
- Iron Thane Argrum is located at the end of the canyon you previously threw rocks at in Raining Down Destruction. Characters with slowfall (mages take notice!) can reach him easily by jumping from the clifftops. Others will have to walk all the way down to the city entrance and fight your way through the large doors and then through the river-area. The thane is an easy fight. Kill him and return to Kurun.
Grizzlemaw and Vordrassil
- This is a medium-length chain of quests beginning in Conquest Hold and spanning much of the west and central portions of Grizzly Hills. To begin the quests, players will have to complete all the main quests in Conquest Hold, particularly those which involve Silverbrook, ending with Tactical Clemency.
- Quest: The Darkness Beneath - Windseer Grayhorn - Collect readings from the Vordrassil roots.
- The quest description is not clear about where the player should go for this quest: to find the three roots, head north and northeast from Conquest Hold. They are the shadowy, swirling areas at the bottom of three small caves. Vordrassil's Tear is directly north of Conquest hold at 28, 44. The Limb is northeast, past the river at 33, 48. The final piece is further east from the Limb is Vordrassil's Heart at 40, 52. Return too Grayhorn to complete the quest.
- Quest: Voldrassil's Fall - Windseer Grayhorn - Collect Slime Samples
- Slimes populate the areas just outside of the entrance to the caves visited in The Darkness Beneath. Kill them until you have collected six samples. Return. Completing both The Darkness Beneath and Voldrassil's Fall leads to the quests A Possible Link and The Bear God's Offering.
- Quest: The Bear God's Offspring - Windseer Grayhorn - Speak with the two descendants of the bear god
- The first of the two bears is Ragefang Shrine. You can find Orsonn inside the cave located on the map.
- The second bear is located southwest of Grizzlemaw, near the mountains. Enter Heart's Blood Shrine and fight your way to the back where the cave is. Enter and speak with Kodian. Return to Windseer Grayhorn.
- Quest: A Possible Link - Windseer Grayhorn - Collect Furbolg Blood
- Collect blood from any of the furbolg warriors at either Ragefang or Heart's Blood. Collect eight blood samples and return to Grayhorn. After you have completed both The Bear God's Offspring and A Possible Link, two more quests will open up.
- Quest: Destroy the Sapling - Windseer Grayhorn - Enter Grizzlemaw and burn the tree
- Enter Grizzlemaw via any of the ramps into the tree trunk area. Make your way to the very bottom of the central area, where there are trees and some standing water. Mages may want to use their slowfall ability to get down there with little interruption. Burn the sapling and collect the ashes. Return to Grayhorn.
- Quest: Vordrassil's Seeds - Windseer Grayhorn - Collect seeds in Grizzlemaw
- Enter Grizzlemaw via one of the ramps. There are a seeds lying on the ground within the tree trunk. It is easiest to collect them on the top tier of the multi-leveled interior. Pick up eight and return to Windseer Grayhorn. Completing both Vordrassil's Seeds and Destroy the Sapling will open up the final quest in the series, Ursoc, the Bear God.
- Quest: Ursoc, The Bear God - Windseer Grayhorn - Cleanse Ursoc's soul
- This is a group quest, with three players recommended. Players can complete the quest with less, with some classes like paladins, mages, and shaman being able to solo it with some effort and planning. Speak with Tur Ragepaw outside of Ursoc's Den in the northernmost part of the map. He is a druid and the players can ask him to assume the role of either a healer, a tank, or as a damage dealer. Ursoc has very high hit points and hits hard. He has an ability that can reduce armor to almost nothing, so healers should be ready for heavy damage spikes. Keep at him and he'll go down. Use the ashes on his corpse to cleanse him and return to Windseer Grayhorn and recieve several rare items as your reward.
Instances
- Wrath of the Lich King features 12 five-man instances and three end-game level 80 raid instances. Additional end-game content is planned at a later date and will be added incrementally to the game in patches.
Utgarde Keep/Utgarde Pinnacle
- 5-man, Levels 70-72/Level 80 Heroic
Utgarde Keep
- Utgarde Keep is a 5-man dungeon for characters around level 70-72. It is located near Berheim and is near the center of the Howling Fjords. The Vyrkul and their followers inhabit this dungeon. This is an excellent low level dungeon, and can be completed in around an hour by skilled players of the appropriate level.
- Quest: A Score to Settle (Horde Only)- High Executor Anselm- Slay Prince Keleseth
- A Score to Settle is the culmination of a long quest-chain started by High Executor Anselm in Vengeance Landing. To start this quest, you must have completed all the previous quests.
- Prince Keleseth is the first boss you will meet in Utgarde Keep. Follow the linear hallways while fighting the trash mobs and you will inevitably meet Keleseth.
- Boss Fight: Prince Keleseth When Fighting Keleseth, it is important to keep your party close together. There are two reasons for this. First, Keleseth regularly spawns undead enemies randomly around the room which could easily kill a healer or magic user if there is no nearby tank to pick them up. Second, Keleseth himself will regularly cast a spell called Frost Tomb on random players. When this is cast on a player, other members of the party must quickly click on the affected player and attack them to destroy the tomb before it does enough damage to kill them.
- It might be a good idea to designate a high damage caster such as a mage or warlock to be on "tomb duty" to quickly DPS down any ice tombs. Kill the undead spawns when they emerge and just do as much DPS as possible on Keleseth and he will fall easily.
- Return to Anselm in Vengeance Landing to receive your choice of one of four powerful blue pieces of wrist armor.
- Quest: Disarmament (Horde Only)- Dark Ranger Marrah-Find 5 Vyrkyul Weapons
- Speak to Dark Ranger Marrah, located just inside the instance portal for Utgarde keep.
- As you will adventure through Utgarde keep, there will be weapon racks against the walls. Loot these weapon racks to receive one of the weapons. There are enough racks across the instance that a full 5-man group with this quest can all easily complete it before the dungeon has finished.
- Return to High Executor Anselm with the weapons for a choice of three blue rings.
- Quest: Ingvar Must Die (Horde Only)!-Dark Ranger Marrah- Kill Ingvar
- Dark Ranger Marrah in the front of the instance requests that you kill the final boss, Ingvar, and return his head to High Executor Anselm.
- Utgarde Keep is very straight forward. Continue forward throughout the instance while battling enemies. After you defeat Prince Keleseth, continue onwards. Most of the enemies you'll face are easily defeated using regular tactics. Do be careful of the Runecasters as they can turn on a shield which will block magical spells from doing damage.
- Continue following the linear path in Utgarde keep until you encounter Dalronn the Controller and Skarvold the Constructor. Defeat them and move on.
- Boss Fight: Dalronn and Skarvold
- These two will attack at the same time. Have your tank concentrate on Skarvold, as Dalronn will randomly target party members regardless of agro. After one boss dies, it will remain alive but untargetable in spirit form. While in spirit form, they will perform all the same attacks they had prior to dying. It is important to kill Dalronn first, as Skarvold will be untauntable while in spirit form. There are two ways to go about this fight: switch dps between the two and then kill them both at the same time, or kill Dalronn first and then DPS down Skarvold. Both are good strategies, but the first is preferred because it lessens the time in which you deal with the both enemies.
- After defeating both enemies, continue onward. Eventually, you will exit outside onto a landing high atop Utgarde Keep. Continue onwards, and head onto the large circular plateau. There you will encounter Ingvar the Plunderer. Kill him, and loot his head.
- Boss Fight: Ingvar the Plunderer
- When you begin the battle, keep all of your ranged DPS and healers at maximum range. Ingvar will occasionally throw his axe at a random target which will do AOE damage over time. If a character does not leave quickly, they will be dead within a few seconds. Otherwise, tank and do DPS as normal, but avoid blowing any cooldowns. After you reduce him to 0 HP, Ingvar will revive as an undead. During this form, he will do a long-range AOE attack which will increase all shadow damage done and interrupt spell casting for 8 seconds. This spell can be devastating, especially if it interrupts a healer. To combat this, everyone should maintain max damage, and the tank should be prepared to use any cooldowns such as shield wall, healing potions, and anything else that can help him survive in case a healer is interrupted. Shamans, druids, paladins, and anyone who has a bandage skill should be prepared to help heal if the main healer is incapacitated.
- After the battle, head back inside and drop down the pit into the large body of water to exit the dungeon.
- Return Ingvar's Head to Anselm. The reward for this quest is your choice of one of four extremely powerful necklaces.
The Nexus/The Oculus
- 5-man, Levels 71-73/Level 80 Heroic
- The Nexus is home to the Blue Dragon flight, led by Malygos. All of the magical energy in Azeroth has been redirected here as the dragons gather it for their own. The perversion of the natural order is causing rifts which might destroy the universe if left unchecked. It is up to you to put an end to Malygos's perversions.
- The Nexus features two separate 5-man dungeons, as well as an end game raid instance.
The Nexus
- The Nexus is a 5-man dungeon. The layout of the dungeon is in a circular pattern, with the final boss Keristrasza accessible in the center once the other three bosses have been defeated. The sub-bosses can be attempted in any order the players prefer.
- Boss Fight - Grand Magus Telestra
- Telestra is a powerful wizard who favors Area-of-Effect attacks. Her ice attacks can stun every character in the room. She has a gravity-based attack that will lash all players around the room while doing shadow damage. During this period, ranged characters with instant-spells should try to continue to do damage. Once she reaches 50%, she will split into three different parts: fire, ice, and shadow. Any class that has crowd control abilities should use them on the different aspects of Telestra. Kill the ice clone first as it does the most damage. DPS them done one by one. Healing classes with multi target heals (priests, shaman) excel in this battle.
- Boss Fight -Ormorok the Tree-Shaper
- Players should spread out. Only melee characters should be within five yards of Ormorok, as he regularly performs devastating melee attacks. He regularly casts a spell which will reflect any magic directed towards him. Casters should cast low level spells to wear down the charges on it. It might be a good idea to put a rank 1 damage spell on your toolbar for this fight. Several times during the fight, ice will break out from the earth in a criss-cross pattern. When this occurs, quickly move out of the way. After a few seconds, they will explode outwards doing heavy damage and throwing any player in its way high into the air. Keep the tank well-healed and avoid the ice-spikes and Ormorok should go down fast.
- Boss Fight - Anamalous
- This is a fairly standard boss battle. At the start of the, the tank should pick up Anamalous while the ranged DPS spreads out around him. Every time Anamalous loses 25% of his health, he will become invulnerable while he opens a chaotic rift. As soon as the chaotic rift appears, all players should target it and kill it as quickly as possible. It will spawn adds if left up too long, which must also be killed. If the players the rifts shut down quickly, Anamalous should be no sweat.
- Boss Fight - Keristrasza
- The red dragon Keristrasza can only be accessed after the first three bosses of the dungeon have been defeated. To start the fight, enter her chamber in the center of the dungeon and click on each of the three containment spheres (blue spheres in the corner of the room). When Keristrasza is awakened, she will attack. The tank should quickly pick her up. Any players standing still in the room will be afflicted with the intense cold debuff. It starts off doing small amounts of damage over time, but will quickly stack up to 9 times to do extremely potent damage. Moving will remove the debuff. Tanks should avoid this by jumping up and down. Ranged DPS and healer should move a small bit after every attack. Melee dps like rogues, arms warriors, and retribution paladins should be able to constantly move with no drawbacks. If a player is shackled and unable to move, the healer should be ready to provide extra healing as necessary. Save your cooldowns for the end when she enrages, keep the dps steady, and Keristrasza should fall.
- YouTube: WoW: WatLK Nexus Instance Boss Fight - Keristrasza (Time: 0:33)
Azjol-Nerub
- Levels 72-74
- Azjol-Nerub is the first of two Nerubian based instanced, both located in the Pit of Narjun. Azjol Nerub is a short, fairly linear dungeon that can be completed in about an hour. Healers that can remove poison effects are important in some of the fights. If you have a priest as your main healer, try to have a shaman in your group that can drop a poison clearing totem.
- Quest: Don't Forget the Eggs! - Kilix the Unraveler - Destroy the spider eggs
- Enter the instance. Head down into the tunnels, killing the Nerubians as you meet them. They are common tank and spank, with a few twists. When a party member is webbed, attack them to free them the spiderwebs, especially healers.
- Continue to move deeper into the caverns. When you reach the lair of Krik'thir the Gatewatcher, it will start a gauntlet-type battle. Three waves of Nerbuians will attack you one after the other. During this battle, use whatever CC is available to help out. Watch out for poison, and if any member is wrapped in webs, make it a priority to remove. Try to conserve mana as much as possible. After the third wave, Krik'thir the Gatewatcher will attack.
- Boss Fight - Krik'thir the Gatewatcher - Throughout the battle, Krik'thir will regularly summon non-elite adds. Classes with strong AOE such as mages, warlocks or even hunters should take care of them as soon as possible. If there are no AOE DPS on your team, al of your DPS should change targets to the adds while the tank and healer focus on the boss. Priests/Druids should the curse Krik'thir the Gatewatcher casts as it significantly slows attacks - if this lands on the tank, he may not be able to maintain agro against DPS. At 20% health, Krik'thir will frenzy. At this point, DPS should focus on killing him as fast as possible, ignoring adds.
- After you have defeated Krik'thir the Gatewatcher, destroy the eggs littering the room.
- Quest: Death to the Traitor King- Kilix the Unraveler - Kill Anub'arak,
- From Krik'thir, head further into the cavern. In the room with the large spiderwebs, use the webbing to continue downwards. Kill the spiders and continue until you reach the bottom. There, Hadronox is battling a number of other spiders. Clear the room of enemies and wait for Hadronox to finish fighting. Engage him in the middleo f the room.
- Boss Fight - Hadronox - Hadronox will spit poison at a random party member several times during the encounter. When this occurs, everyone must quickly move away as it will create a poison mist which will several hundred damage per second to all in the radius. You can tell where the poison is by the green mist floating just off the ground. It is important to make sure no one is poisoned as Hadronox has an ability that will heal himself for a significant amount if anyone in the party is poisoned. Ranged DPS and healers should quickly move away if pulled into melee range by Hadronox's webs. Keep the tank healed and Hadronox will go down quickly.
- Past Hadronox, there is a room filled with tiny spiders that will attack you. It is easier to jump into the large hole in the floor than to try and engage them. The characters will land in a small watery pit, safe from falling damage. Continue north until you reach Anub'arak
- Boss Fight - Anub'arak - Healers should be ready to heal the entire group during this fight. During the fight, Anub'arak will use carrion swarm which does several thousand damage over the course of 15 seconds to all players. At 75%, 50%, and 25% Anub'arak will burrow underground. During this time, two things will happen: Anub'arak will shoot spikes up from under the players. Players have about 3 seconds to move out of the way before they are damaged for around 3000 HP and thrown into the air. While he is underground, Anub'arak will also summon adds. Characters with AOE should kill the non-elite swarms before they gang up on the healer. Tanks and DPS should take down the elites quickly. Keep your healer alive and the encounter shouldn't be too difficult.
- After defeating Anub'arak, return to Kilix the Unraveler
Azjol-Nerub - Ahn'kahet: The Old Kingdom
- Levels 73-75
- The Old Kingdom is the harder of the two Narjun-based instances. Players should be prepared for p oison and disease attacks. Classes with AOE and off-healers might also be useful. Some monsters late in the dungeon have elemental immunities, so players who rely on frost, ice, or nature magic should have some type of backup.
- Boss Fight: Elder Nadrox - Elder Nadrox should be an easy battle. Throughout the fight, he will regularly summon Swarmers, small carrion beetles with low HP (under 500) which should quickly be AOEed to death. The reason for this is that he will also regularly summon an Ahn'kahet Guardian, an elite monster which will make all hostile creatures in the area invincible until it is defeated. All DPS should quickly switch to Ahn'kahet Guardian and DPS him done quickly. Keep the guardians under control and don't let the swarmers over whelm you and it should be an easy fight. Nadrox does do a damage-over-time disease attack, but it is easy ignore and heal normally. Shaman in the party should drop a disease-cleansing totem, however, to help keep the pressure down.
- Boss Fight: Prince Taldaram Defaeting Prince Taldaram is all about fast DPS. Players should be ready to blow their cool downs early. He will cast a flame sphere which causes a fireball to quickly move around the room. All players near the sphere will take about 500 damage a second. Periodically throughout the battle, players will be singled out by the prince and he will use Embrace of the Vampyr on them. This will immobolize the player and draining their health for a large amount every two seconds. The rest of the party must do as much damage to the prince as possible when he performs this move. After 40,000 damage has been inflicted the spell will break. It is important to be quick about this not just to keep your party member alive, but also to prevent Prince Taldaram from healing himself. Keep the damage high and he'll drop soon.
- Boss Fight: Jedoga Shadowseeker - Jedoga requires attentive players and good burst DPS. Normally, Jedoga Shadowseeker will attack using lightning based attacks for around 1.5-2K damage on a tank. Ocassionally, she performs a knockback. Players should watch out for an swirling circle which will perform AOE damage to all players inside the radius of the circle. The most important part of the fight is killing her disciples quickly. Several times throughout the fight Jedoga Shadowseeker will float in the air and then one of the cult members around the room will walk slowly towards the circle beneath her. The player must kill the acolyte quickly. If they do not destroy it before it reaches Jedoga, she will receive a 200% buff to damage for 15% If this happens, the healer will have to heal very hard to keep a tank alive. Pay attention to her followers and this fight is a snap.
- Boss Fight: Herald Volazj - Heralz Voljaz himself is a very easy battle. He does relatively low damage and doesn't have a lot of offense. When he is up, players should DPS freely. Several times during the fight, Herald Volazj will cause you to go "insane." During this period you must fight evil facsimiles of your party. Kill all four of them on your own. They each have between 4000 and 5000 hit points and should die quickly. They don't do a lot of damage but they do enough to add up over time. Healers should make sure they have all the necessary offensive spells on their toolbar. After you have defeated the dopplegangers your head will clear and Herald Volazj will be vulnerable again. Make sure all of your party members kill their enemies as fast as possible. Keep your DPS up and make sure the healer takes care of the entire party after the insanity effect and Herald Volazj will go down easy.

Lake Wintergrasp
- Wintergrasp is an area, much like Halaa in Nagrand or the Spirit Towers in Terokkar Forest, that is flagged for world player-versus-player combat. Located in Northrend, the goal is to capture and hold Wintergrasp Keep within 45 minutes. Killing members of the opposing faction yields Wintergrasp Marks of Honor, which can be used as currency to purchase items from designated NPCs. Members of the winning faction will also gain a zone-wide damage buff and Northrend instance bosses will drop Spirit Shards for them.
- Unlike previous world PvP locations, Wintergrasp is an entire zone and is not confined to a small radius around specific towers. Many of the buildings in the zone have a limited amount of durability and can eventually be destroyed using the different siege vehicles, each of which has different strengths and abilities. The vehicles are built in factories, and each factory can only produce a limited number. It must be noted that factories are destructible and therefore vulnerable to the opposing faction's siege weapons. To operate a siege vehicle, players must obtain a certain rank.
