  • WotLK Launch Issues

The launch of World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King was plagued by a couple of technical issues. Many servers were reported down on November 11, 2008. During this down period, the in-game mail system in WoW broke, causing players' mail from the last two weeks to be lost. When the servers were brought back online, the mail system was still broken. However, Blizzard issued an email to their customers, explaining why the mail system was broken. Then, because of a bug which occurred on November 12, allowing players to purchase free PvP Epics, the servers needed to be taken down yet again in order to fix the bug.Broken Toys: When World of Warcraft Fails, it Fails Hard (November 13, 2008)
