At Blizzcon 2008, Blizzard CEO Mike Morhaime confirmed that the next-gen MMO hinted at on the Blizzard.com website is not a World of Warcraft sequel.

Blizzard's Next MMO
Morhaime stated, "We're not trying to replace World of Warcraft. We're trying to create a different massively multiplayer experience."
