The World Golf Championships consists of three annual men's golf events created by International Federation of PGA Tours. The events were first held in 1999.
Geoff Ogilvy won the first event, the Accenture Match Play Championship on March 1, 2009, at The Ritz-Carlton Golf Club in Marana, Arizona. Phil Mickelson took the second match, winning the CA Championship on March 15, 2009, at the Doral Golf Resort & Spa in Doral, Florida.
