Woot Trackers replicate the information on Woot.com. On high-traffic days (for example, during a Woot-Off), Woot Trackers relieve stress on the main Woot site.
Woot-Off!
During a Woot-Off, as soon as an item is sold out it is replaced by a new product. A bar in the middle of the page shows how close the item is to selling out. Woot-Offs generate a large amount of traffic for the site. To keep the server burden low, a number of auxiliary sites, called "Woot Trackers", replicate the information in real time. Users can monitor the Woot Trackers to learn whether the item being sold is one they wish to purchase, and then go to the site to purchase the item.
