• On February 27, 2008, police were called in to a Wichita, Kansas area mobile home to remove a woman who had been seated on her boyfriend's toilet for the past 2 years. The woman (identified as Pam Babcock) said she was fine and did not require assistance, although her legs had apparently atrophied and her skin had started to grow around the toilet seat. The woman's 36-year-old boyfriend Kory McFarren, told law enforcement that he had brought her food and water every day, and encouraged her repeatedly to get off the toilet. McFarren was charged on March 17, 2008 with mistreatment of a dependent adult.

  As of March 27, 2008, Babcock remains in the intensive care unit at the hospital. Doctors say from the damage to her legs, she may never walk again.
