The final trailer for the comic book film X-Men Origins: Wolverine was released on the Internet on March 5, 2009, and screened in some locations in front of theatrical prints of The Watchmen. In addition to a more detailed summation of the film's plot, this trailer gives audiences their first look at singer Will.i.am as the mutant John Wraith. Other characters featured include Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool, Taylor Kitsch as Gambit and, of course, star/producer Hugh Jackman as the titular anti-hero.

Summary
The trailer opens with Wolverine on a table in a government facility, where he's about to undergo a painful operation. We see quick glimpses of some of Wolverine's more painful memories, including shots of him fighting in the US Civil War, World War II and Vietnam. We cut back to the military base, where William Stryker (the role played by Brian Cox in the second X-Men film, and played here by Danny Huston) is supervising Wolverine's experimental procedure. In voice-over, Stryker promises that he can end Wolverine's traumatic memories, particularly as they concern the loss of the woman he loved, Silver Fox (played by Lynn Collins).Stryker has put together "a special team with special powers," thought by many fans to be a direct reference to the "Weapon X" storyline from X-Men comics. Wolverine seems unwilling to play along with the program, and we see sequences of him violently escaping his captors. This includes a number of intense chases and a face-off against Liev Schreiber as the mutant Sabretooth. Wolverine also travels to a school to find "the young mutant [he's] been looking for," who turns out to be a younger version of the X-Men leader Cyclops. Stryker then sends other mutants to capture Wolverine, including Gambit, Wraith and a mysterious mutant with peculiar tattoo-like patterns running across his body. Various shots of Wolverine battling mutants and soldiers at the Weapon X facility follow. The trailer ends with Wolverine flinging himself on to a military helicopter and holding on to it with his metal claws.
