Wolfgang Petersen

Wolfgang Petersen is a German director.

Wolfgang Petersen began his career directing television pieces in Germany during the 1960s. In 1981, Petersen made Das Boot, which earned him an Oscar nomination. He was able to use that exposure to transition to American film and directed Enemy Mine in 1985. In the early 90s, Peterson made a series of successful thrillers including In the Line of Fire, Outbreak and Air Force One. Most of his recent movies have been big budget blockbusters like The Perfect Storm and Troy.
