Wladimir Klitschko

Wladimir Klitschko is a Heavyweight boxer and a current champion. He is the younger brother of Heavyweight Vitali Klitschko.

On December 13, 2008, Wladimir Klitschko defeated Hasim Rahman by technical knockout in the seventh round of a bout which took place in Manheim, Germany. With the victory Klitscko retains the IBF and WBO heavyweight championships.ESPN.com: Klitchko KOs Rahman in seventh(December 13 2008)

Pro Career

Klitschko started his career as a heralded boxing prospect, following in the footsteps of his older brother Vitali. But Klitschko has experienced some rocky moments in his career. Klitshchko experienced his first loss against Ross Purity on December 5, 1998, but a TKO in the second round at the hands of Corrie Sanders on March 8, 2003, raised questions about Klitschko's potential. Another knockout on April 10, 2004, at the hands of Lamon Brewster confirmed a susceptible chin and questionable stamina. Champion Brothers

Wladimir's brother Vitali currently holds the WBC heavyweight championship. They are the first brothers in the history of the sport to hold championships in the same division. On November 3, 2008, both the Klitschko brothers challenged the WBA boxing champion Nikolai Valuev. Valuev owns the only heavyweight belt not held by one of the Klitschko brothers. Vitali states it doesn't matter which brother faces Valuev, the goal is to unify all the belts in the division between the two brothers.
