  • Kip Winger formed the band Winger in 1987. The 1988 debut album of the same name was an immediate success, going platinum in the U.S. and gold in Japan and Canada. The album included the hit songs "Seventeen" and "Headed for a Heartbreak".
  • Albums

    Winger released their self titled first album in 1998, followed by In the Heart of the Young in 1990, Pull in 1993 and IV in 2006. The also released three compilation albums, The Very Best of Winger, Demo Anthology in 2007. and Winger Live also in 2007.
  • Break-ups and Reunions

    Winger was at the height of its popularity in the late 1980s and into the early 1990s. When grunge rock became popular in the 1990s, their album Pull fell by the wayside. The group split up, and Kip Winger went on to a solo career. They reunited in 2001 and toured together, but broke up again in 2003.

    Winger came back together in 2006 and recored their first album in over 13 years, IV.
