Le Peuple Migratuer, or Winged Migration, is a 2001 documentary film following the migration patterns of various types of birds. Intended to showcase the great journeys taken by migratory birds, the movie was filmed over a four year period and on all seven continents with a unique birds-eye perspective. No special effects were used in the filming of the birds. Instead, most of the movie's footage was shot using aerial cameras mounted to various types of ultralight aircraft and hot air balloons, as well as regular cameras attached to motorboats, trucks and motorcycles. Most of the birds filmed for the movie were specially raised by filmmakers and trained to fly alongside cameras.
