Willis Reed is a hall of fame professional basketball player who spent his entire career for the New York Knicks. He was named as one of the 50 Greatest Players in NBA History.

Pro Career
Reed was the 10th overall draft pick by the New York Knickerbockers in the 1964 NBA Draft. He spent his entire 10-year career for the New York Knicks winning the NBA Rookie of the Year in 1965, NBA MVP in 1970 and won two NBA championships (1970, 1973).NBA.com: Willis Reed
Post playing career
He became a coach for the Knicks in 1977-1978, then served as volunteer assistant coach for St. John's University and head coached Creighton University from 1981-1985. During the 1980's, he served as assistant coach for both the Sacramento Kings and Atlanta Hawks. He was also the head coach of the New Jersey Nets in 1987-88 then became Nets' General Manager & Vice President of Basketball Operations from 1989 to 1996.
