William Sadler is an American stage, film, and television actor.
He studied at Cornell University and moved to New York, where he appeared in 75 plays over a 12 year span. He has been in three movies adapted from Stephen King's work: The Shawshank Redemption, The Green Mile, and The Mist, and his best known television role was Sheriff Jim Valenti in the TV series Roswell.
