William "The Refrigerator" Perry is a former NFL defensive lineman for the Chicago Bears. On April 21, 2009, it was reported that Perry, age 46, had been hospitalized after suffering complications from Guillain Barre Syndrome. The condition is a rare chronic-inflammatory nerve disorder. NFL Career and Beyond
When William Perry was drafted by the Chicago Bears in 1985, he had an immediate impact during his rookie season. While he mainly played defense, he was also used on offense as a ball carrier or blocker for Walter Payton. Perry helped the Bears win the Super Bowl in 1985.
Even after retiring in 1994, Perry remained a recognized face in the world of entertainment. He was a participant in a battle royal at WrestleMania 2 and was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2006. He also participated in a charity boxing match against former NBA player Manute Bol in 2002, appeared in the 2003 Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest and appeared in the Chicago Bears' music video for the Super Bowl Shuffle.Official Site: The Fridge
