  • Resignation

On March 11, 2008 Admiral William Fallon resigned his post as Chief of U.S. forces in Middle East and Central Asia, after holding the position for little over a year. Adm. Fallon cited inaccurate news reports claiming that he is at odds with the Bush Administration over Iran. A recent article in Esquire Magazine painted Fallon as the one person standing in the way of the Administration's intention of going to war with Iran. Fallon has insisted that he did not think there were any policy objectives with the Administration and CentCom.
