William Blake was an English poet, painter and engraver during the Romantic Period. Blake's works were largely ignored during his lifetime and he was often labeled eccentric or possibly insane and demented. Nevertheless, his concepts of imagination and creativity have resonated throughout popular culture since the mid-20th Century.
