  • Civil War preservationists are trying to stop Wal-Mart from building a Supercenter near the historical Wilderness Battlefield. The planned Wal-Mart would be near the entrance to the site where Robert E. Lee and Ulysses S. Grant first fought in 1864, in Virginia. Over 250 historians and scholars urged Wal-Mart's CEO H.Lee Scott to build the new Walmart farther from the historical landmark.
