Wild Boar

Wild Boar meat ranges from a mild to strong sweet, nutty flavor and is very high in protein. It is much leaner than pork. Dry red wine, apples, red wine vinegar, bitter chocolate, rosemary, brandy, sage, chestnuts, cloves, prunes, and thyme work well with wild boar meat.

  1. Used for barbecuing, sausage, jerky or other ground meats
  2. Brought to America by Spanish explorers
  3. Reach up to 300 pounds with 12-inch tusks
  4. "Cinghiale" means boar in Italian
