Varietals
The grapes used determines which type, or variety, of white wine is being made. To be labeled as a varietal (a wine made from a specific grape, like chardonnay), a white wine must meet certain requirements. Varietals that are made in the United States, New Zealand, Australia or South America must be comprised of at least 75% of the named grape.
