  • Reviews for the Where the Wild Things Are movie began coming in just prior to the film's October 16, 2009, release. The Spike Jonze adaptation of the popular 1963 Maurice Sendak children's book drew largely favorable reviews from several major publications, including The New York Times, USA Today and Entertainment Weekly. Other notable critics, including Roger Ebert, were a bit more tentative.
