Where the Wild Things Are is a live action fantasy film directed by Spike Jonze. The 2009 movie is adapted from the 1963 children's book by Maurice Sendak. Where the Wild Things Are is scheduled to be released in theaters on October 16, 2009.
Movie Synopsis

The film adaptation of the classic book, Where the Wild Things Are, tells the story of a young boy named, Max. Max is a mischievous, yet sensitive child who feels misunderstood at home.
After being sent to his room for misbehaving, Max, who is angry and feels unloved, creates an imaginary world inhabited by seven monsters called the Wild Things. The Wild Things are strange and emotional creatures who desperately need a leader to guide them. The Wild Things crown Max as their king and Max promises to make everyone feel happy. However, Max soon discovers that that's easier said than done.
