Where in the World is Matt Lauer? is a segment on Today that Matt Lauer has done eight times as of April 14, 2008 and in it's 9th season this year. Viewers of the show were given a set of clues about where he was located and from those clues they must ascertain where Lauer was located.
In the past he has visited places like: Panama, Hong Kong, Moscow, the Pyramids in Egypt, the Taj Mahal in India, the U.S.S. Theodore Roosevelt on patrol in the Mediterranean Sea, an active volcano in Hawaii, the Blue Lagoon in Iceland, Machu Picchu in Peru, Skibo Castle in Scotland, Angkor Wat, Monte Carlo, Istanbul, Cannes and Amsterdam's city of bikes, and tulips.
Viewers will be able to follow Lauer's travels via the Today web site. The site will contain behind-the-scenes travel information, a clue for the next day's mystery location and the ability for viewers to comment on Lauer's travels.
